WorktopsH G Stacey Ltd | Worktops Worktops for kitchens are normally made in granite or slate. Granite can be polished or honed (eggshell finish) and is very hard and durable. Once sealed, granite is resistant to most oils and fluids spilt in the kitchen. The range of granites is very wide and in order to price worktops a sketch of the kitchen is usually required. The sketch needs to include overall dimensions, positions of the sink and hob cut outs, as well as the type of granite preferred. Vanity tops and shower enclosures are made from slate, granite or marble. Again these are all one offs made to suit the design of the space within which they are fitted.
